I cook a pot of greens about once a month. No matter the time of year, you can find me in my kitchen singing this while stirring my blue stock pot. I need to find more seasonally appropriate songs that feature greens.

This doc has a whole section about that first big sample that forms the hook of this song (also from a Christmas song), and an interview with one of the RUN DMC fellows about the song.
