Coach seating is getting even worse

Better than shit is not good enough.

I was going to say something snarky about the military, but then I looked at your picture, and that actually looks quite a bit more comfortable than the American Airlines coach class I flew in last week.

Right on! Because, at the end of the day, having an air of assumed moral superiority and social chastening needs to be directed toward an entire species, or nobody at all. Otherwise, it just looks stupid.

You forgot other race. And yes, it looks very stupid.

Kind of like ā€œnot in my backyardā€ in reverse, isnā€™t it? Forgot to add this: the two issues arenā€™t unrelated as we essentially hunted whales down to near extinction for fuel, not food. That should clear things up a bit.

Not really. The short answer is that there are plenty of foodstuffs and flavoring agents which are acceptable under the rules of halal that are not acceptable under the rules governing kosher food.

Well played sir!

That covers the UK & Europe, now if only the US & Australia could be similarly solvedā€¦

Every company Iā€™ve worked for has similar travel policies. When budgets are tight they tend to get ignored.

Iā€™m even smaller than you but still have issues with space if I wear a winter jacket.

To be ā€œsafeā€ I avoid any of the heated meal options. The fruit platter or whole fruit present far less issues and can get me through when I feel sort of low blood sugar anger or anxiety.

I think the only way forward is through.

Drugged unconscious and diapered you are loaded into an individual transportation crate with your luggage. You wake up in the recovery room on the other end refreshed and ready for work/fun.

Well they probably could, and I imagine Airbus would be happy about that not-very-sensible business decision on Boeingā€™s behalfā€¦

Seriously? You want to sleep sitting bolt upright? I certainly canā€™t do that and all I can think when Iā€™m attempting to sleep on an plane is ā€œdamn it I wish this seat could recline just a little furtherā€.

If it was like in The Fifth Element, Iā€™d be good with that.

Just pass out a xanax to every passenger if youā€™re going to do this.

I donā€™t suppose the ticket prices will drop accordingly?

Remember when things were improving instead of all the corners being cut and downsizing on us consumer plebes.

heh. Well, the high-noise environment DOES drown out the screaming babies, and kids CANā€™T kick the back of the seats. And even as a space-available passenger, the price was comparable to RyanAir (5 bucks per hop). Not sure I could recommend the lack of climate control or toilets. . .

I love to fly couch, itā€™s next best to flying carpet.

The seat arrangement with the 17" aisles? Good luck evacuating that. I wonder how they will tweak the safety standards to make that work.

No. No, I donā€™t remember that.

Interestingā€¦did not know that.

Our kitchen is considered safe for both, so I never considered that there might be small differences between them like that.

Is it things like ā€œkosherā€ (fish) gelatin, isinglass, carmine?

Look at all that legroom! Heck yeah Iā€™d take that over a commercial passenger plane.

The amount of room each passenger has is not just a matter of comfort, itā€™s also a matter of health and safety. Being crammed into a small seat with little room for movement on a long flight increases the risk of developing blood clots, especially for people who are obese.
