Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 1)

Can anybody say when the optimal time to do this is? I seem to recall that the later in the year it is the more accurately they can predict the strains to vaccinate against?

No, the vaccine is manufactured based on predictions made months ago. Generally, early to mid-October is considered optimal.

So does the actual study (which I read before making this post). However, it gives no explanation as to the difference between the different 2-layer cotton masks (for example), or why one of them was so much worse than the others. No news article is going to be able to fill in those details without asking these specific questions of the study’s authors, and none have done this as far as I can tell. I assume the reason the study is vague on this is that it doesn’t matter to the actual thing they were trying to study.

He’ll be happy to know that his “mission” is going to have a great many more “confirmed kills” than any Seal Team could dream of.

Grim Reaper lawyer emerges with mobile billboard: ‘Killing Florida With His Stupidity,’ Ron DeathSantis

“The governor is too busy keeping seniors safe, ensuring college sports get back on the field, and giving districts and parents’ choice on returning to the classroom to notice a van down by the river,” Fredrick Piccolo Jr., communications director, said in an email to the Phoenix.

Your statement contradicts itself at least once, asshole.

At the meeting, parent Heidi Anderson expressed her concern that a facemask requirement is “satanic,” decalring:

Six-foot distance and wearing masks are pagan rituals of satanic worshipers. My kids are Christian they are not subject to wearing masks.

I’ve gotta get out of this fucking madhouse.

The word DEVELOPING is a magic prefix that journalists use to get credit for posting something early but avoid blame if it turns out to be misleading or untrue?

Um… May?

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte may be injected with Russia’s coronavirus vaccine as early as May 2021, according to the government’s official newswire, which quoted the presidential spokesman on Thursday.

Russia on Tuesday announced it had registered the world’s first vaccine for the fast-spreading coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, after less than two months of clinical trials. Data of those trials have not been published.

The Philippines is among a handful of countries that will take part in a more extensive “phase three” trial for the vaccine. Philippine News Agency, the government’s official newswire, reported that the country aims to begin those trials in October.

So really they don’t have a completed vaccine yet, they are just calling it that before they do the phase 3 trials on, like, everyone? This seems like PR shenanigans to me, or worse, picking impoverished, desperate countries to use as guinea pigs.
