Delaware promotes at-home COVID-19 testing

Not sure about the accuracy, but making the process easier can only help.

I just saw an article about restaurants trying to figure out how to keep the outdoor dining experience going in cold/wet weather, because less than 30% of people polled are comfortable eating indoors. They had a picture of what looked like mini greenhouses as one “solution,” I can’t get the image of a terrarium (with all the droplets forming at the top) out of my head.

Yet another thing that the rest of the country can learn from Oregon

I really hope that despite voter suppression and Electoral College you succeed, right now assholes all around the world are empowered by the US government policy. We recently had anti-masker covidiot protests in Poland, they had posters with that “Plandemic” crap.
Good luck!

It is exceedingly hard to deal with a situation where “stupid,” or perhaps more accurately “ignorant,” becomes a point of honor. Certainly it has to begin with evicting the willfully ignorant current occupant of the White House, but it cannot stop with that. It will be a long haul, I am afraid.

I think we need to start with the kids. Teaching and emphasizing critical thinking skills from elementary all the way through high school. Praising and prioritizing the ability to think through a problem for oneself.
I have no idea how to implement this yet.

There are a number of proven methods for teaching critical thinking skills. The problem we run into is that they are actively opposed by conservative school boards. Texas famously banned such teaching on the grounds that “it could lead children to question received wisdom.” Well, yeah, that is the whole point of it, but if kids start to question the foundation of the conservative “reasoning” they will realize that it is bullshit, and we can’t have that, now can we?

actually, I’m okay with that even outside the pandemic. One problem with modern restaurants is the noise issue, and having bubbles like this might improve the ability to hear the people you’re with in a noisy space (like a modern restaurant or a city sidewalk).

That’s the implementation part I was referring to. We have curricula for critical thinking. We need to get it imbedded in the public school system as a priority. Conservatives who worry their children might start thinking for themselves can go to private school
The Texas Board of Education and the California Board of Education (or the equivalent) need to change. Those two states control a lot of control over the curricula in the USA because of shee size. I’m voting for the democrat running in my district. I’m hopeful this election will result in a change in the balance of the Texas board.
