Biden getting the nom with bring up the markets.

And Trump will claim it as his response the pandemic.

And four more years of Trump.

Well, if people want to be rid of Trump, we will need to put on our big people pants and get out the vote. And then protest the fuck out of shitty Biden policy and keep working our way towards progressivism. It’s all we can do. Unless defeat is considered an option, which to me it isn’t.

I voted. My primary was today.

I’m sporting my Hot Pants Of Freedom.

But Biden can’t beat Trump.

I don’t think so either, and didn’t from the beginning. Democrats are such a fucked up bunch, completely different than the way R’s are fucked up. However, that said, I see a far greater evil in 4 more years of Trump so I have to vote for Joe.

You don’t know that, and polling says you are actually wrong.

As I see it, the main reason why Democrats are “a fucked up bunch” is because the media teaches us, sets our expectations. Think of not only Fox, but who owns NBC, CBS, ABC, and so on. About how ClearChannel puts pressure on all of its “local” radio stations. About how many newspapers are owned by extreme right moguls.

When I grew up we always had a fair amount of stuff on hand, but we also had a house with a basement and one of those huge freezers. Since I’ve started living in a tiny box in the sky that is a five minute walk from the grocery store it seems a lot more convenient to keep my supplies at the store rather than finding a place for them in my home. But I’m also realizing I don’t know what two weeks of supplies looks like and I need to do some spreadsheeting to figure it out.

I understand the worry, but I think at this point all signs point to Trump being screwed in the next election. Between mid terms, special elections, Virginia, I just keep seeing a pattern that the polls might say Trump’s base is invincible, but when people have to actually go vote they are rebuking Republicans.

This is the doubt and hope in my mind, as well. What do you think would cement this idea as likely reality? We keep seeing Trump duck responsibility, “The Teflon Don” and get away with all kinds of corruption, so people are rightly wary of assigning too much significance to 2018’s midterms, or polls or primaries. Lost of people think he’s going to pull a fast one and cancel elections, declare himself president for life, rig the elections, do something completely despotic. So, my question, is what would instill confidence that he’s going to be out in November? To me, I don’t see anything in particular and the doubts and worries continue. Do you see something differently?

No, not really. I think that the evidence from elections since Trump’s is that Democrats are going to get the votes. But if you are worried about calling off the election, having partisan election officials cook the results, or forcing some kind of supreme court showdown about whether we can trust the election results based on “evidence” of fraud… well, I’m the last person in the world to look for to comfort! (Tempted to put a smiley face here, but I can’t find a “smiling to cover the darkness” emoji)

You do realize we are a net producer of oil, right?

Um… yes? As per usually, @Wanderfound has the goods. Obama was pretty weak on the shift to green energy. He could have and should have done much more, but he did not, in part due to pressures from the center.
