The 160 metre radio tower in Moscow was built between 1920 and 1922, so itā€™s a valid 1921. entry ; )

btw, boring: only one function

depends on whether it was an S-VDB, apparently

The only VDBs produced came from San Francisco, so they all have an S mintmark.

Not trueā€¦

coin facts says otherwise

Victor David Brennerā€™s design for the Lincoln Cent broke new ground by placing the image of an actual person on a coin made for circulation. In another break with tradition, Brenner placed his initials near the bottom of the back of the coin. Despite their small size, the letters V.D.B. were obvious enough to created an uproar with the public and Mint officials, who immediately demanded their removal. This was done later in 1909, resulting in the creation of four varieties: 1909 (with and without V.D.B.) and 1909-S (with and without V.D.B.). The 1909-S V.D.B. is the rarest of the four varieties.

I preferred philately to numismatics, so Iā€™m only relaying information.

Iā€™m not into philately, but I can tell you that Iā€™ll take an upside down airplane over a 1909-S VDB ANY day.

Huh, good catch both of you. Mine was an S, and I was sure only San Fran produced them. Oh well.

Thereā€™s also the no-VDB 1909-S!

Correct, but that is the more common type and itā€™s worth far less.

Correct
For a good condition coin:

1909 VDB - worth about $10
1909-S - maybe $50
1909-S VDB = hundreds, possibly $500

The Lincoln Wheat Cent you really want is the 1914-D.

Iā€™d settle for a 2015-D at this pointā€¦

My favourite music genre. Aussie Rock.

Hugo Gernsback is always mentioned amongst early Sci Fi writers (The Hugo Awards).
Iā€™ve never read anything of his. Iā€™ll have to find some.
