when we finally hit ten thousand we immediately switched to “Count down from ten thousand!”

…and like Sysephus, every 8 years, right after we reach 10,000 but before we start counting back down, we look out over the expanse, take a deep breath, and for a brief moment are human.

We also had a "We did it! party, with many multiple posts at the ten-thousand mark. Of course we don’t have to do it like the other place did. Maybe we want to keep it going, counting to a million. Or maybe there’s some variant to the rules we want to explore.
