Crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried arrested in Bahamas

The Bahamian authorities didn’t frogmarch him out of the courtroom after he was denied bail, but he’s not riding out his detention under house arrest in his condo in a gated community either. He’s been taken to Fox Hill Prison, which is definitely NOT Camp Cupcake, albeit held in the medical unit for now.

Thank god, so I don’t have to keep hearing right wing goons complain that “the left is giving SBF a pass, because of who his parents are and him donated to democrats” yadda yadda.

They don’t seem to realize it takes a lot more time to bring charges for finance crimes in general. And the fact he was in the Bahamas made it even harder.

The main difference between this shit-weasel and Holmes is that Bankman-Fried only stole people’s money. Holmes very likely stole lives with her lying and fake blood tests

Not as bad as Holmes, but it’s also worth noting that (like Madoff) Mr. “Effective Altruism” has screwed over a bunch of charities now that his scam has been revealed. They’re not all “longtermist” billionaire moneyball or self-created reputation laundries but legit non-profits addressing immediate needs.
