Reminder: running vital services as for-profit enterprises leads to shit like this, because cutting corners includes cutting back on your Information Technology support, training and infrastructure. Hospitals have increasingly been bought up by financial companies as profit making ventures, not as a service to the public.

I completely agree with you: profit and good healthcare don’t mix.

But the non-profit sector isn’t exactly rolling in the dough, either.

What we need are regulations, funded and enforced to address the risk.

Used to work for a non-profit healthcare entity and I got news for you. They’re cutting back on IT spending, too. COVID-19 is messing with everyone’s budgets in that field.

Fuck Russia.

These attacks are designed for maximum chaos and damage.
