The free version of Resolve is a great deal and great for a lot of projects, but it’s not a full replacement for Premiere Pro because it is a light version of Resolve Studio. (One could also say that Premiere Pro isn’t full replacement for Resolve Studio… )

I vaguely recall some other DaVinci editor in the 1990s. It might have been for the Amiga. I only recall it from the stories of a co-worker who previously worked there: Kind of like an Insane Clown Posse work environment.
