Could we, please, pwetty please, have teardowns for such things? It’d be nice to see them stripped down, the boards photographed, the chips identified, so we could have actual idea about how good it is.
It could even silence or at least attenuate at least some of the voices criticizing the product placements.
These will be swag at every IT conference in the coming year, so that ought to be some idea about the quality.
Then again, for 14 bucks, I don’t expect much out of my convenience gadgets…
It can still be pretty good base for modding. If the batteries suck but the electronics is passable, replace them with salvages from a dead laptop battery. And so on…
