no, I get that. I want to watch certain threads, and I want to be informed of replies to my specific posts. I want to know which is which. if I get multiple replies to a post, and that post is in a thread that I’m watching, the notification is formatted exactly the same
Who decides how is too many? What happens if I fail to comply with this demand?
We can’t count more than about 500 without major performance snafus. So you won’t get counts any more.
Did y’all just delete the notifications bubble thingie that was left of the hamburger? Because now it’s next to my avatar and I can’t click on the darn thing and make it show me whatever notification that is… (when I click it, it just refreshes the page I’m on).
Should work, try hard refreshing. (ctrl+f5 on a PC, not sure what the equivalent is on a Mac)
Ah. Thanks for the clarification. As I don’t often (ever?) use those counts, I don’t understand the prominence of the real estate given to it, but my mileage probably varies.
iPad user. And I just figured out that I have to hit my avatar to drop-down the notifications menu, instead of trying to get the little blue circle to work.
Oh yeah. just tap your FAYAAAYAYAYYAYAAAACE
it nailed me today, too. those things are annoying.
That might be because Discourse doesn’t support Tor.
You’ve added numbers to the favicon - What are they can can we disable them?
Look more closely. Something else has gone missing.
A straight answer would be nice…
Where is the fun in that?
¬_¬
It’s as if you don’t want people to use your product
Seriously, what is the number for? It doesn’t seem to relate to anything.
Edit:
I kinda figured it would be updates, but apparently not:
Only fun people should use our product.
Oh you meant the number over the browser icon! That is the number of new or updated topics, e.g. “There are 3 new or updated topics, click to show” the same information as presented there. Not sure why it looks like 3 vs 4 as in your screenshot, any ideas @sam?
This is not on by default so you must have enabled it in your user preferences at some point.
