Is this not my every day wallet as well?
Edit too similar to body?
Why not both?
When I am old I shall wear plaid
With a tweed hat which doesnât go, and doesnât suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And contrabass flutes, and say weâve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when Iâm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run scripts live in production
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other peopleâs gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the blogs.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear plaid.
(Oh, oh, ooohhh⌠You actually know me, donât you?!)
Why didnât I buy a Harris Tweed hat when I was there?
Do you know Harris and Lewis are actually only one island?
Is literally the only thing I donât do is press alarm bells?
Is flipping up mail box flags on random boxes as bad?
Why have I not immigrated already? Am I a poser?
âŚ
Do I need more tweed?
Do you not understand how creepily accurate that is!?
Why do the good die young?
Can it be argued that if he were truly good that he would have paid you before shipping out?
Did you know (well, you most certainly donât, but for the threadâs sake, blah blah etc.) that:
- Iâve been sewing since I was 6?
- I killed two of my momâs sewing machines, the first of which was one of those steel behemoths from the 60s (âportableâ, and must have weighed 50 lbs.), the second of which was a cheaper early-80s Singer?
- I learned to weave in 2nd grade, thanks to our twice-a-month art teacher, Mrs. Brown?
- I have made my own paper?
- I learned how to crochet (from library books) at the ripe old age of 21, after watching my exâs mom and my sister crochet up a storm, making loads of cool stuff?
- My sister taught me to knit about 15 years ago?
- I learned the art of millinery and made loads of hats in the 90s?
- Holy crap, this list is too long, and Iâm not even done?
For the sake of brevity, I limited my list of mad granny skills, is that OK? Or shall I expound?
PS: my sisterâs a weaver - do you need book recommendations (I could ask her)?
Does she live anywhere near SE MI? Because, did you know, Iâm a visual/tactile learner?
How do I put ânoâ into question form?
I donât think so?
Just as well for now, as the loom came without a warp board, and does she maybe know a good place to purchase one for a 4 foot wide floor loom?
[edit] oops, I used the wrong thread direction, didnât I?
Did you know all the weaversâ guilds in the U.S. (and other English speaking countries) are listed here?
Camilla Valley Farm Weavers Supply
Did you know that they provide warping accessories?
And did you know there are a whole bunch of weaversâ resources in northern Indiana, where I would happily meet you for coffee/lunch if you made the trek*?
*Within the confines of my schedule, of course!
Should I quit my job?
