How do you feel about a movie that casts Turing in the standard ‘lone genius’ mold, while simultaneously portraying him as someone who would commit treason instead of being outed as gay?
Now how do you feel about masses of people who don’t have a clue who Turing was getting introduced to him through a movie?
Menace, no. Hungry little beasts, definitely yes. Why oh why did they have to settle on the insane hunger for power and memory, couldn’t we get the same oomph for less juice with just a bit better programming and overall architecture? Why do we need so much more computing power to send an email? Did you ever compare it with the computing power needed to get a man to the Moon, and not just one but two of them?
So it isn’t just an endemic translation-related thing?
