Dirty tricks people use to steal from self-checkout stations

I used to avoid self checkout for that same reason. Then I realized that these fabulous devices save me from countless inane pseudo conversations forced on me by marketing/management drones who train their employees try to force me to talk to them.

All you cashier people out there, no offense intended but I am not interested in talking to you. I want to pay for my stuff and move on. I don’t want your opinion on my grocery purchases. I want you to be the equivalent of a vending machine.

… Sorry if that seems harsh.

It seems I am too honest. Back when I used to do my grocery shopping with my kiddo in a pram I once walked out without buying one item accidentally. It has lodged all the way in back of the pram storage part. I took it back when I realised and asked to pay for it.
