I would speculate there’s less fatbergs in the US, especially the south.
The articles about the fatbergs in the UK mention pouring leftover cooking grease down the drain.
Whereas, in the US we have more of a Gravy Culture.

I think your gravy culture came from northern england/scotland/ireland… gravy is amost one of the four food groups here.
Most of the fat down the drains comes from frying, if not entirely.
