DIY Think Tanks?

lost cause @Israel_B. it takes humility to not get in a last shot WHILE NOMINALLY AGREEING THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE PERSONAL SHOTS.

I cannot point out circular arguments and logical failures with popo without it being personally against him. When what I hope for is some logic based on actual ‘shared definitions’ with someone who can’t even agree with themself as to if they agree or disagree with someone elses statement.

it is alwyas both, but also neither, and that is now suddenly nuance??? What world is that behavior nuanced?

And any fail is acknowledged with a ‘yes, but’ statement… so, maybe let me know when naptime at the preschool ends?

I am interested in your ideas about doing so. But if you and/or your group’s goals were to work towards eliminating that verticality, the practice could be counter-productive. Playing “the game” seems like a great way to get co-opted.

That’s all very well, but The Authoritarians.

This is the empirical basis of my wholesale dismissal of the intellectually bankrupt Right. It’s mostly just a bunch of over-priveleged arseholes spouting whatever is judged most likely to to hinder progress away from the status quo. They’re backed up by an army of troglodytes who are entirely unmoved by evidence, but instead blindly follow their chosen leaders regardless of the degree of absurdity espoused.

Seriously,
#fuck those guys.

I’ll count you as a reasonable adult who’s entitled to take part in serious discussion when you can demonstrate some respect not only for established facts and overwhelming evidence, but all the shit we take for granted these days that was hard-won by the brilliance and courage displayed by those who fought against ignorance, superstition and prejudice to forge a better world.

You won’t find the likes of Friedman, Rand, Thatcher, Reagan, Limbaugh, Bush, Cheney, O’Reilly et al on that honour roll, that’s for fucking sure.

I don’t believe I left them out of my other post, they’d count, and they’re of a similar racism/culturism breed…I’d think they’d fall in with the other examples and not be on the top of the list when one thinks ‘state sponsored racism’ since the state sponsorship isn’t as formalized. (And of course disclaimering that calling it racism is a bit simplistic in all the examples. Heck, we in the U.S. have the best and most obvious historical examples there)

You might want to read up on that. @anon73430903 brought a really good example here

The gif is for “fuck those guys”

Not really necessary. I brought up many similar good-but-less-formalized examples in my initial reply. I already mentioned I was surprised I left them out, they were in my head when I posted the original reply I just was focused on making sure I was also hitting on non-North-Africa examples, and I

Not sure what you’re trying to accomplish here, I already mentioned there was one example that jumped to mind because it’s the most commonly mentioned one and was recently associated with David Brooks having a conflict with the right that would jump to mind with respect to most people. I’m beginning to think your ‘Can you put it in plain American’ wasn’t an attempt to understand at all but instead an interest in making sure it nobody was implying anything bad about Israel/Palestine.

EVERYONE should read that free and easy to read work. If more people read it (especially our leadership) the world would be a better place.

Instead it’s all ‘Art of War’ and The Bible and such.
