I absolutely love this show. It completely humanizes history in a very personal way. And it brings home vividly how we are all descendants of immigrants. We have ancestors about whom we can be proud, not for their specific accomplishments, but for their survival skills and their hopes which led to each of our own lives.

I don’t know how to evaluate the accuracy of the DNA research on the show, but it does illuminate the long and varied threads which weave to connect each of us to different ethnic antecedents and cultures that would surprise us. For me, it blurs all national geographic boundaries and makes us all part of a human family.
