He’s a dumb, dumb, dumb bastard, but I find it hard to believe he doesn’t have a pretty ironclad prenup for Melania. And regardless of whether there’s a prenup or not, she could sue him for whatever she thinks she’s due as much as she wants–it’s not like he’s going to pay her, and she’ll have to find some money that Carroll and legions of other people don’t already have a legitimate claim on.
As far as legacy? Even if he hadn’t won (stole) the last election, his legacy would still be helping his father be racist in their property holdings and hosting a dumb reality show nobody would otherwise remember. Not as bad as his current legacy, but still not great. He’s only moved from a distasteful historical footnote up to a full chapter of shame by being as generally awful as possible.
