On generating interest, raising awareness, and predicting volume
Last time there was a big wadge of applicants after we started thanks to Xeni (I think) posting about it on BB. Perhaps ask an editor to do that again after this first round is over if there are still vacancies?
Yeah, good call. I’d thought about giving her or one of the other editors the heads-up about it a few days ago, but feared we’d be inundated with a flood of applicants, most of whom would have to be disappointed.
But now I fear I was too cautious.
Signups were open for 5 days last time round.
You are, presumably, aware of Top Gear’s (unsuccesful) attempts to kill a Hilux by drowning it, setting fire to it and putting it on top of a high rise before it was demolished?

Do you really want to start in 12 hours? You don’t want to wait a while and see if we get a few more players?
I don’t have a considered opinion here, but do see the tension between a) generating sufficient interest and b) not generating so much interests that more get left out than let in.
