Tangentially related: I recently learned that Thomas Kinkaide—the self-styled “Painter of Light” famous for building a shady Ray Kroc-style franchise of art galleries selling prints of his sappy Americana landscapes back in the 1990s—got his first big break painting backgrounds for Ralph Bakshi’s Fire and Ice fantasy epic.

Makes me think someone ought to buy up some of those old Kinkaide landscapes on the cheap and paint in a bunch of barbarians fighting off orc raiders.

There are a lot of fake Orc-raid Kinkaide paintings that were generated by AI prompts but this one at least seems to be something created by a person:

The trip back to the Unpublished Books of Gor was pretty fun. I’m actually on the lookout for Couchfuckers of Gor and Donut Master of Gor if anyone has any leads.

I look forward to the day when reality doesn’t readily provide so many examples for the genre.
