Yeah… some of those opinions really did NOT hold up well over the last 8 years:

With Tesla Motors, Elon Musk has singlehandedly done more for the survival of the human race than any other human being alive today. I don’t have to like him (I don’t know him, so I don’t actually know if I’d like him) to recognize that.

To call Musk a crackpot after what he’s managed to achieve in the last 10 years or so since SpaceX was setup is frankly ridiculous. He may be wrong, he may fail utterly, but his basic ideas are sound.
