At my work, we have to have ‘Kind regards’ as part of the email sign-off. Makes me cringe every damn time.

I use Best Regards if I want to be nice, otherwise just Regards…

All this makes me believe if it takes more than a minute to figure out how to sign off, “Insincerely” should be the default.
I find the informal to be more of a minefield in that language. If you get Bises et Bisous, must you respond in kind?

I am this incarnate. I’ve actually started telling people at work that if they want something done quickly and effectively, just act even the slightest bit disappointed in me. I should just wear tee-shirts that say “will work for approval.”
On another note, I just signed off an email with “thanks!” how do exclamation point shift the alignment?

They usually do that when replying by email. Which has also put other things in like phone numbers and such. I know when I catch that I DM the poster and the mods as they are usually quicker to clean that up.
Protip. Don’t dox yourself on the BBS.
