Enjoy watching this fancy smartphone car entry system fail utterly

Another load of asinine claptrap brought to you by people who don’t realize that hanging an LCD panel on a shovel doesn’t make it turn dirt better. If you’re too lazy to use a key to open your door, you shouldn’t be driving. If the place where you are is so scary that the seconds needed to use a key on the door pose too great a danger, you shouldn’t be there - you need to grow a brain.

I mean, even my not-so-cutting edge proximity fob has a physical key that can be inserted in an actual lock if the tech fails. That’s just good engineering.

Srsly? Are you frunkin’ kidding me?

I have a friend with an old Porsche 911. He proudly displays all the stuff he shoves in there.

Junk in the Frunk.

My key FOB (or whatever the fuck it’s called) does this from time to time. (Usually it’ll happen if it’s in close proximity of my phone.) When it does happen, I often wonder what life would be like if the fail occurred as I was being chased by a mugger and was trying to get into my car to get away.
