Good bye. I want people who are there to serve the public, not their careers.
Adios old guard Dems. You won’t be missed.
Good riddance. And don’t let the door hit your freeloading asses on the way out.
Now let’s get some actual progressives hired to fill those positions!
But was anything of value lost?
The whole shebang is because these old guard Dems don’t like being called Socialists. No different the n the fact that most Republicans have no platform or ideology, they’re just addicted to describing themselves as Republicans because their parents were Republicans and Lincoln was a Republican. They identify themselves solely by the label, with no ideals or politics to guide them except that all change is bad.
As Mom always said regarding poop, “it ain’t made out’a gold, get rid of it”.
So there is a difference between political parties…
How does that work, then? I thought severance was something you got when you were fired or made redundant, not when you quit?
Paying them to go away? Sounds like a good investment/downpayment on the future.
I’d imagine they just wrote it into their employment contracts. For these types, normal rules are only for “little” people.
Sometimes you have to this, but giving in to the demands of shakedown artists is best avoided. I hope the new party leadership sues to claw back as much of that “severance” as possible.
In case others here are confused in this case, let me break it down for them: One actually tries to get shit done, govern the country, try and solve problems, and has diversity of political views in its ranks.
The other is a party of right wing populists looking to literally tear down the country and install a dictator who they believe was ordained by god… With a handful of people looking to get shit done and govern (Romney).
Keep in mind that in Harry Reid’s last Senate run, he almost lost to a proto-QAnon Tea Party Republican.
Kids! The kids these days are to blame!
The wisdom of your words ring eternal, if you want it straight, ask a Woman to explain it.
Of course, money = power, so if a=b and b=c . . .
Don’t go away angry, we’re all on the same side here.
I would not be so quick to rule out another reason they’re all quitting - they know Judith Whitmer, having worked with her off and on over the years, and know that she is an awful petty tyrant and it would be a miserable place to work with her in charge.
Note I am not asserting this is true.
Just, I think it’s at least as likely that one person is a jerk and all their colleagues know it, as it is that every single party staffer and consultant working for an entire state party is a jerk. ( “If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you’re the asshole.”)
So supposition it is then. OK
One wonders at times…
Hmmmmm… You do have a point there.
