Facebook pushing AI-generated images of starving, drowning, bruised and mutilated children into users' feeds

It’s all about generating attention, whether the behaviour is positive or negative. In a society where attention has been commoditised and assigned a monetary value, the algorithms and "AI"s (digital and/or slow) to which these creeps are appealing are incapable and uninterested in examining the difference.

I assume what’s going on here is boundary testing to see precisely how uninterested Facebook and Zuckerberg are and how weak any human and programatic counter-measures on the platform are. Whether the tr0lls are edgelord vandals, spammers, far-right agitators, or state-sponsored actors is unclear, but what is undeniable is that they’re arseholes spreading misery.
