I’m shocked that facebook wants faces… who could have seen that coming?

You could pick two random photos and make a morph, or even just a composite.

Just to clear up a point that seems to have confused a lot of folks: there is no downside to simply not using Facebook. If you delete your account, the only reaction it will cause is envy.

A ubiquitous service that’s being used as the authentication platform – and retail platform – by a significant and ever-growing number of online entities? No, of course there’s no downside for dropping that whole bit of nonsense entirely! Hell, we could quit using them newfangled intertubtes at the drop of a hat also! Not like anyone’s figured out a use for them yet.

From the wired article…

No, not creepy or strange at all… or mostly WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

Every story about FB just makes me more happy I never signed up there.

Would blowing up in someone’s face still constitute a clear photo of it?

most people on facebook likely have uploaded numerous photos of themselves and their family and friends, many have also happily tagged the faces of all the people in every shot. typically your face isn’t a secret. so for most facebook users this isn’t a concern personally because they’ve already done this numerous times.

the concern is for people who fall outside of main use case and don’t show their faces for personal, religious, or safety reasons. this kind of shit needs to always be “opt in” imho.

Set up a photobooth somewhere, for that retro experience while ripping their faces off.

Sure, they’ll delete the image. Now the data about the image, that allows them to identify your face, that’s another matter entirely…

what’s great is that if you don’t upload one facebook can just find one and then put it there for you.
