exactly. “Metaverse” makes this seem expansive when what Zuck is actually doing is restrictive. The internet is the metaverse, this is just attempt to rope in more kinds of existing interaction into a single closed-loop network and capitalize. Honestly Google has done this already a lot more successfully, but was smart enough to rather quietly do so, rather than announcing their intentions, but then Google seems more dependent on actual internal revenue rather than dazzling investors.
