The cops have been doing this to Black people for centuries in America. They may have fancy new gear because of the wars and militarization, but that’s not why this is happening.
In the one video the local residents are complaining about how the cops were using mace, dogs, and rubber bullets in the residential streets which look like nice middle class homes. And they said the cops started doing this before the looting, like they wanted to provoke something, then they pulled back so the store could burn.
Yes, and people have been reacting rather than responding to it for just as long.
