Watched this last night with absolute fascination. The US is truly backwards in our thinking on prisons and rehabilitation.

While it’s true there are some real monsters out there that deserve to be isolated from the rest of society, locking humans away for months and years in solitary confinement then expecting them to behave like normal people works about as well as caging animals for most of their lives then expecting them to be warm, lovable household pets. I just doesn’t work.

Our culture’s obsession with meting out punishment and control is destroying our humanity.

I can’t say that a similar system like what Noway has would work in the US but there has to be a happy medium somewhere.
