I suppose the unasked question here is what sort of microplastic waste is generated by abrasion?
Also a spoon and cup carver, and honestly never sand the finished items. If your blades are sharp, they leave a much better finish than abrasives. Heard a dude on YouTube comment that abrasives are much more appropriate for making your edges sharp than making your surface smooth. I grind mine through 10k grit and strop frequently while carving, and get a nice, shiny and finished surface.
You know what else is better than sandpaper?
