Completely unsurprising. As the article notes, the pension fund’s whole portfolio is $154 billion dollars; the half a million in question here is basically a rounding error on that scale. This is what happens with massive funds like this, unless you very deliberately go out of your way to ensure there won’t be investment in certain things you disapprove of.
I take it the fund will be divesting that pronto.
Another company named in the article is Vista Outdoor. As well as manufacturing guns & ammunition (and supposedly supporting the NRA), they also own a number of cycling-related brands, including Giro, Bell, Camelbak, and CoPilot.
A US cycling advocate has suggested boycotting these products.
