The scariest scenario here is that his dad is going to buy it. They’ve already moved the supplement business to him, so in the future, we might see ā€œInfowars by Dr. Jones’ Naturals.ā€

If I remember the tedious corporate/trust/loan shenanigans correctly, daddy pretty much owns everything anyway.

Mom owns some of it too. Their shell companies were really amateurish.

In other developments related to the case, the US Coast Guard has also released an image of Titan showing how its dome fell off as the submersible was lifted out of the sea following a dive in 2021.

Uhh…

Should that be possible with a pressure vessel?

For a vessel designed to keep high pressure on the outside, yes. Ideally the higher the pressure, the tighter the interface becomes. Not saying this is ideal case, though.

I’m not quite sure I understand what you mean. Bolts capable of shearing off with a knock on the bottom of the vessel can’t be safe for any vessel. Even if it is pressed against the hull at depth, what if it had come off even 5m under the surface? That hole would have flooded the hull instantly and sunk the whole thing with its passengers.

Didn’t say it was safe - you asked if it was possible. It clearly isn’t safe.

I’m reminded of the DSRVs that dock with other subs at depth - same principle, but not a permanent attachment. (Not that it was permanent with Titan, either…)
