Unfortunately, the absolute Monarch in Brunei has decided that his legitimacy rests on this sort of theological primitivism, ( Melayu Islam Beraja) And his wealth is derived from oil, not hotels.

I don’t know if this really adds anything. The kid could have been bullied out of lunch money, or the family could have been not handling things temporarily and the parent’s keeping their pride intact, or the kid could have messed it up alone.

As the first step, making sure a kid eats in the immediate short-term is always going to be more important than why the kid was in trouble.

She was still fired for making sure a hungry kid ate a full meal.

But the kid wasn’t in any sort of hunger/financial trouble.

I read another article that gave more info. For example, the middle class parents in this family send their 3 kids to school with homemade lunches. He wasn’t supposed to be eating the cafeteria line lunches anyway, whether paying or not. And the fact that the lunch lady had his contact info and was texting him privately really makes me wonder what the full story is.
