The weirdest thing: I didn’t found anywhere their methodology and a complete report. I can download country by country, but this would be massively boring. And, without understanding their methodology on how they decide things, this could be read as a way to US to oversse “democracy”

Not sure the methodology for this year is up but this is the one for past years https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-net-methodology

My head is too full of cold germs to study this report right now, but just reading the phrase “mission to spread democracy” fills me with skepticism.

It is a War on Tyranny (may contain traces of Tyranny).

It’s almost like large monopolistic corporations or authoritarian governments creating “walled gardens” can lead to adverse effects for Internet freedom.

For now…

It’s my first ever chance for this to be relevant: my cat is named after one of Freedom House’s people.

His name is Arch Puddington.

Apparently we don’t have the internet in New Zealand.
