Where in Europe? Belarus? Hungry?
Where was it Borat came from?
By far the most respectable place that Europhilic transphobia has appeared was in a piece by Frieda Klotz that appeared in the Atlantic late last week. Titled âA Teen Gender-Care Debate Is Spreading Across Europe,â the piece repackages the talking point that there simply must be something wrong with gender-affirming care if Europeans are concerned in news story clothing, misrepresenting and obfuscating freely as it goes. Claiming there has been an âabout-faceâ by several European countries, Klotz fails to explain the details of whatâs gone on in any of the countries under discussion. She also conveniently neglects to mention that the situation in Europe has been influenced by political opposition to LGBTQ+ rights just as much as the US has been.
My guess is theyâre trying to obliquely refer to Cass Report
Kazakhstan is not the backwater that Borat depicted it to be. It is a member of the UN, has the highest GDP and Human Development Index in Central Asia, and is moving in the right direction from a democratic, pluralist perspective.
Yeah, it was a cheap shot, just like the filmsâŚ
Cardinal Douthat and Pamela Paul give Harris a 3 for electability.
Boule likes her.
As the sitting vice president, she is the only serious contender for the nomination. The party, it appears, is already falling in line. She is a stronger, more confident campaigner than you remember, and if Democrats are united behind her coming out of the convention â and the enthusiasm for her is already palpable â then she will be formidable going into the fall.

I agree with this sentiment. Well, maybe enlarge it to a few more, like Brooks and Stephens.
