So far I haven’t been able to make it to Uranus myself–it’s been too far out of the way even on western road trips–but I have talked to the mayor who told me there is a small celebration every year on March 13th as a tribute to the town’s namesake.

But did it have a bathroom?

Never been there, but I may have driven by or been near there, as I have gone to the Mark Twain National Forest down there. It’s nice!

If I’d known there was a Weird Museum, I would have stopped! I’m not super interested in fudge, so I’ve always blown right by. Maybe next time!

What I remember from driving Missouri highways is a lot of billboards touting walnut bowls. Which made me a little sad, because walnut trees take forever to grow. And they make walnuts. Food. For people and wildlife. No more.

Just cut up into pieces, and made into wooden bowls.
