No. It shows you have compassion for the suffering of others. There is nothing weird about that.
I laughed at the “peenies” also. And yeah, it would be a small consolation to remember that people who commit crimes are often also suffering.
It’s partly that, but also the mere fact that they bothered to say “sorry”. Like, imagine a bank robber who says “okay, just do as I say and nobody will get hurt” versus a beet-red faced screaming robber going “NOBODY FUCKING MOVE!”. In both circumstances they’re doing a terrible thing, taking what isn’t theirs and putting people’s lives at risk, but one is being an asshole politely and the other is being an asshole assholishly, if that makes any sense.
(Also they are both probably from a movie, as that’s the only bank robbery experience I have, fortunately.)
