My favorite local band, Belushi Speed Ball, has released music on a Furby, GameBoy Advanced, and in a Dunkeroos container. On Facebook, they said they’re going to release their next album on Mentadent.

This is a really weird idea and I love it.
I could actually play that album as I still own an N64.

Very cool idea, but he could use some help with his label art. There’s a guy on instagram who creates some amazing album covers and puts them on N64 cartridges. User: /albumcarts

I can actually “support” this DRM as it fills the need of being music in physical media that is

  • Difficult to copy
  • (Likely) Quite durable.

Remute also has different albums on Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Turbografx-16, and Gameboy cartridges as well! (I own all of those). They’re super nifty since they use the console’s on-board audio chip to play the music like a game would.

Are they also local to Bandcamp or something? Or just varietal speed balls?

Yeah they’re on Bandcamp and Spotify. I would have linked to them, but it was forbidden to me.
