Google admits it tracks users' location after they turn off location history

Oh? Howzabout iOS?

If you use a smartphone with a retail OS, you’re just about certain to be in the same boat. You CAN use an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROM on a rooted phone and “simply” (so to speak ^^’) never intall the Google app framework, thus avoiding the entire issue, but otherwise, yeah, you’re being tracked.

So my phone tracks me…it also provides me with realtime traffic data when I leave or go to work, which makes my commute much more predictable. I suppose I’m not a fan of the amount and duration of location history Google is keeping on me, but I don’t have an issue with my phone knowing my location.

If I wanted that kind of surveillance I’d still live with my parents.
