Well speak of the Devil on this matter. The group I’m in just had its files vanish. Hah. Trying to reconstruct an amplifier based on the schematic dot notation for the toroid has been… annoying to say the least. It makes me sad to see so much hard work getting lost because folks trusted corporations too much now. At least I have the schematic so I got enough to work from. But this is becoming a real problem as I’ve said. Too much information like radio electronics is basically cordoned off behind very technical books which either expensive or limit in supply (usually both).
“But, but - how can I google something not using Google?”
(Brought to you by the “no, no, the e icon is the button for the internet” type of user.)

“I altavistaed it” or “I lycosed it” or “I yahooed it” just didn’t work.
i AskJeevesed it

Who would want to be reminded of the grim, dark, era before the beneficient advertising economy enabled rich internet content consumption experiences and advertunities?
When you see how many google scripts are threaded through most websites you visit like the fucking red weed they kind of are the internet. Or is facebook the internet for a lot of people? I forget now but yeah, i’ve had that “i just press the e to go to the internet” type of person.
