“Will you two stop saying ‘gummi’ so much?”
This would make a fun game, as the pieces shifted while you went along!
Aaargmbl! The line don’t disappear when complete!?!?!?!
definitely not OCD proof, this video.
Chronic Logic made something called Tryptych that worked a lot like this. Not sure if it’s still available for purchase; it was a long time ago.
(It’s a little surprising no one ever tried to make an updated version. It’s a fine concept, but seriously lacking in polish. You never realize how great flashy, zoomy animated menus are until they’re taken away.)
Now I want jello shots.

if the the boing boing shop starts selling cbd tetris gummies I’ll start shopping there.
At least now we’ve got a link to a real* softbody Tetris in there, though, where the rows actually disappear. That was bugging the heck out of me in the v16 video.
*Someone really needs to do a playable version, though. I’ve seen some very impressive softbody physics in Unity lately that should be able to just about manage it.
Ditto. Good to know I wasn’t alone. I whiled away enough hours at Tetris in my youth that those rows not disappearing gave me mild anxiety.
I had that on the Mac way back in the day. It was interesting, yet frustrating as I recall.
I haven’t seen the other versions but I was thinking it’d be cool if they had them always melting at the bottom for endless goo and endless play.
