It is worth noting that Peter Lorre is also in The Raven, not to mention Jack Nicholson as basically comic relief. Fun movie even if it has jack shit to do with Poe.
Other than Fall Of The House Of Usher none of them really have more than passing reference to the source. They are are still fun stuff though.
Actually, Masque of the Red Death comes pretty close also and it is very visually interesting. While dismissed by American critics, some European critics dubbed it ‘Bergman without all the pretension’.
