Yes! I loved Under the Skin. Did you know that a lot of the scenes where Scarjo picks up victims was improv? The director and a body guard were in the back of the van. I think the film received pretty positive reviews, but it seems to be vastly underrated in the public eye, IMO.
And yeah, very similar visuals. I was also reminded of it during the Sunken Place scenes in Get Out.
Yeah I get the Severed Heads vibe and also from the same era, SPK.
Saw SPK and for visuals they were projecting B&W footage of autopsies while using angle grinders on a burning oil drum… pretty intense! The next day saw Talking Heads on their Stop Making Sense tour… helluva weekend!!
