…
A friend just sent this to me. Sad news…
Apparently, he just released an album with Robin Guthrie, too…
Just put together a Pandora Station featuring him yesterday.
One of several.
Edit: Looked it up, and it’s one of four, plus two soundtracks, plus another album with Guthrie as a Cocteau Twin.
Ooops again wrong collaborator…still sad
JFC, 2020 is unrelenting. At least we’ll always have Budd’s soundscapes.
Artists like Harold Budd have kept my inner world peaceful for many years. Gratitude
Holy shit, I’m a fan of both and I had no idea they were connected.
One of the things I miss about the olden days is LP, cd and cassette “cutouts” (I guess they still sort of exist, but not quite the same.) I got a couple of Budd’s albums, the Eno ambient series albums, and Jon Hassell’s Eno-produced album at some store, sealed cassettes, five for a dollar. Ambient music was perfect for cassette, they could put entire albums on a side so you’d get 2-for-1, or Eno’s Ambient 4: On Land was the entire album on each side so you didn’t have to flip it.
Nononononono…
Not cool…
We need Harold Budd now more than ever…
