It’s great to see Dems finally understanding that the only way to defeat a bully is to kick him where it hurts most. I love Michelle Obama, but “when they go low, we go high” was never a formula for success against this vicious pack of fascists and neoreactionaries.

I mean FFS they have been parroting this line since the minute she declared her candidacy. She was out there on day one doing rallies and talking to people, but the talking heads were already complaining with, “why is she hiding from the press/why isn’t she elaborating on policy”.
Nothing she does will satisfy these people.
She can outline all the wonky policy details she can, and it’ll be dismissed as “why isn’t she giving us details on her policies”. She can do all the interviews she wants with both traditional and non-traditional media and it’s, “she’s not giving enough interviews/she’s hiding from the press”. She can answer tough questions and it’s, “she’s deflecting/she’s incoherent/she’s not giving good enough answers”. Whatever she does, the critics will always say, “not like that” and move the goal posts yet again.
Yet, somehow Trump only talking to biased media outlets, giving coherent non-answers to softball questions, spending 2 hours lying and ginning up hate at rallies (when he’s able to speak coherent sentences of course) is shrugged off as “Trump being Trump”. His lack of policy porposals other than vague “make eggs affordable, cheap gas, drill for oil, deport all immigrants, and world peace (like when he was in office)” are lauded as a much-needed continuation of the best presidency ever.
It is so infuriating.
