You DON’T want to talk to Terrie’s mother-in-law. Imagine the worst mother-in-law possible. Multiply that person by infinity. She firmly believes in every Japanese superstition ever, and has berated Terrie for years for not knowing enough about Japanese culture. Terrie wrote a short story collection called A Robe of Feathers in which a number of the stories where inspired by her. Mothers-in-law complain incessantly about the incompetence of their daughters-in-law, but Terrie’s goes way above and beyond the call of duty. She is a living nightmare.
