I’m surprised that people still fax.

NSFW faxes feels like a 90s idea, has it made a comeback?

A new employee at my company got a fun introduction. She’d been here about a week when her inbox started filling up with emails with pretty filthy subject lines. The business email account she’d inherited had been hacked and was being used to send out porn spam, and she was getting all the mailer-daemon “Could not deliver” messages. They came in at a rate of about one per minute. The poor thing. We certainly had an awkward first interaction, as we scrambled to stop the deluge.

You’ve never worked in Japan, I take it?

I think there’s actually some potential here. If he gets a fax from a BLOCKED number (just like he blocked someone on his phone), then it should activate a switch that turns on the shredder. No more shredding everything.

But I suppose if you could detect an incoming fax from a blocked number, then just refuse the fax and save some trees.
