It does not now and never has sounded like “Ki (ll) Ma (ma)” to me.
I don’t care what it actually is. All I know is it is noon on Monday in my well-lighted kitchen and I’m looking behind me and getting up to close all the closet doors.
Remembering how rare high fidelity sound was for the average homeowner television back then, I always thought it was, “Kill, kill, die, die” but extremely muffled.
Posted word-for-word, this will be a great addition to the reboing collection:

Anyways, credit to the creator for making something that’s right up there with, “Da-dum… da-dum…da-dum…da-dum.da-dum.da-dum.da-dum”

Yeah, I always thought it was “ch-ch-ch ah-ah-ah”. Maybe it’s the Yanny/Laurel effect.
