But trimmer than what? Did it lose some weight? 
With every adjustment, unfortunately. Having the contact rubbing against the resistive film just doesn’t work out well in the end.
Good ones can survive for a fair while; often life of device if they aren’t adjusted often; but the clock is ticking for all of them.
